wierd Weightloss and belly button question

Has anyone else experienced sensitivity around their bellybutton as they lose weight?
As I've lost weight my belly button has become more shallow and now the skin that is exposed is much more tender. Anyone have any suggestions for treatment?
It's not painful but it can feel irritated.
I'm not sure if I should be trying to keep this newly exposed skin dry or moisturized or just leave it alone.

Hmm this is an odd one.
I would make sure the areas is clean just to be certain that you dont have any dirt trapped in there, which might be causeing it to become infected0 -
I agree - keep it clean and dry. I had a friend whose belly button got infected. She wound up having to fill it with betadine soap and lay on her back for 10 minutes while the soap soaked into her skin. The treatment took several weeks to eliminate the infection.0
