If your own doctor isn't helpful, get a second opinion. Trusting your health to a bunch of strangers (even well-meaning strangers) is unwise. See a medical professional to get information that will be customized to you.
Good luck0 -

You are very young. Do the doctors believe it is a congenital condition (born with it) or do they suspect an underlying physical cause (high blood pressure, heart defect).
I looked at the Mayo Clinic site at http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/atrial-fibrillation/DS00291/DSECTION=lifestyle-and-home-remedies.
The article states the following:
Lifestyle and home remedies
By Mayo Clinic staff
You may need to make lifestyle changes that improve the overall health of your heart, especially to prevent or treat conditions such as high blood pressure. Your doctor may suggest that you:
Eat heart-healthy foods
Use less salt, which can help lower blood pressure
Increase your physical activity
Quit smoking
Avoid drinking more than one drink of alcohol for women or more than two drinks for men a day
If you are already following these guidelines, then you should just be aware of your physical feelings and get a regular checkup to keep an eye on the condition.0 -
In your case, don't rely on what you read online or a forum. Go to your doctor and dont be shy about communicating what your idea of sucessful treatment is. Ask questions, inquire, expect good patient education from your healthcare provider and take nothing less.0

yes thats it,
it was dicovered i had this in year nine at school, i have no other health problems, i hardley drink, dont smoke, im now loosing weight and eating healthy so im hoping im no more at risk of getting strokes then any regualr person, i dicussed my concerns with my doctor but they dont seem worried, i had an operation a few years ago which reduced the amount of episodes i got but now i feel its got worse the doctor keeps telling me i have pulled a muscle, but the sharp pains i have been getting are the ones i have always had since it was discovered. but when i tell them this she still thinks its a pulled muscle not my heart condition.0 -
I found an old artical on fibrillation

Heart arrhythmia's can be frustrating when the doctor can't capture them on ECG. The doctor can't treat what they don't see. Have you suggested a halter monitor? Not sure if that is what they are called in Europe... But its a monitor that they send you home with for a couple days that will record your heart rhythm at all times. That way your doctor can see exactly when your are have the pains and they can see if an arrhythmia is occurring at the same time. It sounds like you had an ablation previously. Sometimes you have to have several of them as there can be multiple areas in your heart that these irregular beats can come from. Also, this might not be true chest pain. Do you have acid reflux or heart burn? thats a very common thing for people mistake for chest pain. If you are uncomfortable with the opinion you were given, by all means go get a second opinion. In the mean time try to avoid triggers of a fast heart rate: such as stress, anxiety, caffeine, and alcohol.0

Yes, atrial fibrillation is a very serious condition especially as you get older but at a youger age, (I'm assuming you are under 60) there really isn't a whole lot that can be done unless you are severely symptomatic (ie, having blood clots in your lungs, legs, stroke-like symptoms, etc.). The medications and procedures that are done to try to correct it are not procedures to be taken lightly.
Especially if your body is able to correct itself when you occasionally go into a-fib, you are doing fine. Most people experience extra beats here and there throughout their life but most people don't notice them. You're probably more sensitive to these inconsistencies because you've been diagnosed with a-fib. Keep up the healthy lifestyle and if you notice it happening more frequently, I would discuss it with your doctor. (And if you do want to discuss with your dr, keep a log of the dates you go into it and how long you seem to stay in it so he has an idea of "what more frequently" means to you), Hope that helps!0 -
yes i have had 24 hr ecg before and again dosnt usually show, i get sharp pains like a stabbing pain through my chest heart side, only lasting a 2nd but sometimes get more than one in a row, also quite often feel my heart racing.i will just see if i get any more issues then if i do will get back in touch with my doctor. i have read that primary actial fibullation(i assume this is what i have as its on and off) is no concern comapred to people with out the condition,so this has calmed me down a bit.0
