Small NSV and Small Rant

Last night at a church potluck a woman noticed I've lost some weight--the NSV here is that she hasn't known me for very long, so she didn't see me at the beginning of my journey 50+ pounds ago, so at the most she's only seen me lose 10 pounds. It's nice to know now when my weight loss has slowed down that those little losses aren't going unnoticed.

The rant is that she asked the question that everyone does when I say that I've lost weight: "what are you doing?" and when I told her I'm eating better and watching my calories along with exercise, I got the response I always get : the disappointed "oh." No, sorry, I didn't find a magic pill or a book with all the answers and I'm not on the soup/pineapple/exlax/insertwhatevercrazinessyouveevertried diet or even weight watchers. I'm doing it the 'old-fashioned' way and it's slow and taken a lot of hard work. Sorry to break it to you. It took me a long time and a lot of trial and error to figure out that those things dont work, and if you would've been willing to listen for a minute I could've saved you from making the same diet mistakes I did.

Sorry so long, people! Thanks for reading!

Haha, that used to happen to me at my old job. I'd lost about 20 lbs there all of the sudden, and people were asking those same questions. And giving the same responses.
Its like, they knew the answer, but they didn't wanna hear it. :P
