Anyone else seem to have found themselves living with friends or family after this recent flooding in central PA or surrounding area from remnants of tropical storm Lee? Just curious.

We live(d) in Bloomsburg, PA, now we are staying with his sister and her family because our house is unlivable. We got water 3-1/2' deep in our first floor. Pretty much the entire downstairs is a wash.

Love to hear your story!

Along the Missouri River we've been under water since the end of May!! The river is under flood stage today for the first time since May 20th.

Entire towns were evacuated and will not be accessible until the end of October.

    Flooding? We got it.

Still a drought out here in Arizona :( If I could, I would gladly ease your flood troubles to give our land a bit more water. Hope you guys get all back to normal very soon!

Can't imagine. I'm in SW Ontario and our basement flooded this weekend. It has been so much work cleaning it up. Hope you get home soon.

I am in the UK, but we flooded 3 years ago, with a 2 year old and a 7 month old. It was a total nightmare, we had no electricity or hot water for over a year, we had to wash up in bowls in the garden, and the ground floor was a building site for 16 months. Looking back it was the most stressful part of my life, but at the time I just got on with what needed doing.

WOW!! That is unfathomable!!! So sorry to hear that! How on earth do you function with two small children like that? I've got two boys 9 & 12 and I can't even begin to think how awful that would be at their ages!

where along the Missouri River are you located? We helped friends over the summer due to the flooding that live on the river (Gavins Point Dam) We're not affected but was hard watching friends lose things and their house/basement fill with river water. Watch them lose things and their health decline.

^^^^ this. I have not been directly (Southwest Iowa but in the hills) affected but my heart goes out to all who have been. I read about it every day and have heard so many sad stories, but also inspiring stories of triumph!!

Hey, luckily our small community just happens to be at a high enough elevation. But lots of friends and my kids' classmates are displaced. We live 5 minutes from Pittston, 9 from the Susquehanna River....

I hope that you and your family / friends are able to rebuild....
  • I live up in Northern BC along the BC/Yukon Border.

Our roads have been closed for almost a week now becuase of flooding. Part of our highway was destroyed as well as a bridge. We only have one highway in and out of town.

Parts of the town experienced some flooding too and it was close to becoming a state of emergency. They had to send supplies to us via boat (20 hour one way trip) such as groceries, fuel etc. Lots of tourists were stranded here also.

Sorry you are going through this as well. Take care!! hope things look up for you soon! :D

Every thing along the Missouri River from Gavin's Point in South Dakota to St Louis, MO has been under water. There were several breeches in the river levees in the area around the IA/MO state lines.

My husband was in charge of keeping the city of Omaha above water. He worked 100+ hours a week/7 days a week for MONTHS. Haven't seen much of him since Memorial Day.

We used to live near the river, but we're in the hills now. We know dozens of families that were forced to evacuate in June and aren't home yet. Many don't know if they have a home to go back to.

The scary part is that this will probably repeat next year since the conditions that caused this mess are still in effect!

Wow! I guess my loss is not near as great as some of you. Thank-you for sharing your stories. I hope and pray that each one of you affected by this are able to move on safely! God bless!
