So, I was up until about 3 am last night studying for my test that was today. I am prescribed Adderall for my ADD. I took the Adderall last night sort of on the later side so i couldn't sleep worth crap! I got ZERO hours of sleep. I just laid there, trying to fall asleep... all freaking night until it was time to get ready for school. So, i get ready, took my Adderall and drive off to school. I took my test and then headed over to the gym as usual. I got a really good sweat going, But I didn't burn as many calories as I usually do. I kind of took it easy because I was tired. I felt really irritable working out today because I left my HRM at home and the HRM's on EVERY machine I was on, all said "0" ....what the heck? Guess i was dead while i was working out! lol....

So, i finished and headed on home. While I was driving, I noticed that I could not for the life of me, catch my breath. I felt like I was out of breath. And usually, my breathing is normal by the time i get dressed and cleaned up in the locker room....i seriously could not breathe. I was driving trying to achieve a deep breath but it wouldn't "catch" (ya know what I'm talking about?) So i tried breathing in and out slowly so i wouldn't hyperventilate....i started getting light headed and dizzy and I had a serious bout of tachycardia. Soon after that, my extremities started getting tingly and pretty soon i couldn't even bend my fingers, they were stiff as a board, sticking straight out, and i could not bend them ( i was still driving at this point). The muscles in my legs contracted but wouldn't relax and i felt this weird pressure between my eyes.

I almost drove myself to the hospital. But i didn't. I got home, and tried walking...I could barely walk...it was more like a shuffle. Once i got up to my bedroom and laid down it started getting better. The only thing that lasted a while was a tingly and shaky feeling in my arms and legs. I am drinking plenty of water, i guess that might have been what made me feel better. I already drank my usual 2 bottles of water while working out........

But regardless, I will never do that again...workout on no sleep. God that was so stupid on my part. Plus taking the Adderall....I didn't even think about anything when I took it, it's just so routine for me. But, i did eat a good breakfast this morning, big breakfast actually. Can't imagine if I hadn't eaten....SMH

Ugh! I might skip my workout tomorrow....

I think it's a good idea to take it easy tomorrow, and when you don't get to sleep. It sounds like you had a very scary experience.
    Hope you're feeling better.

Those symptoms don't sound to me like that is just from working out after having no sleep. For the love of God, my girl..Go and see your doctor. You could have been having a stroke or a mild seizure. THAT is not something to be taken lightly. .. AND WHILE DRIVING??? :noway: OMG! Symptoms were systematically developing and you kept on driving? THAT sounds like something that would require some medical attention... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ... Call your doctor! You need to have your medication reviewed.:flowerforyou:

I do have a DR. appointment at the end of the month...I will ask her about it then. I'm thinking some sort of anxiety attack maybe? I don't know, but it was really scary. I kept driving because I was freaking out. I don't live in a city, i was driving on the back roads to get home. I thought about stopping but I was afraid that If i stopped, and something happened to me, no one would figure it out until it was too late. All i wanted to do at the moment was go home.

    Physical symptoms of anxiety
Anxiety is more than just a feeling. As a product of the body’s fight-or-flight response, anxiety involves a wide range of physical symptoms. Because of the numerous physical symptoms, anxiety sufferers often mistake their disorder for a medical illness. They may visit many doctors and make numerous trips to the hospital before their anxiety disorder is discovered.

Common physical symptoms of anxiety include:

    Pounding heart
    Sweating
    Stomach upset or dizziness
    Frequent urination or diarrhea
    Shortness of breath
    Tremors and twitches
    Muscle tension
    Headaches
    Fatigue
    Insomnia

    Does this sound familiar?
