Well intially I thought I might try the C25K programme as people rav about it, but was concern as apart from being heavy I have rather an ample rack and also suffer lower back issues, so I thought perhaps lets start with walking, but Scottish weather well enough said! so with a bit of research came across "Walk at Home" with Leslie Sansome, wow its great, definately works up a sweat and no major jumping around, not just walking but incorporates leg lifts and arm raises, can see this as being something I can continue.

Has anyone else used this programme, if so what did you think and what was your success with it?

Sounds good, where do you get hold of it? DVD?
  • I love Leslie Sansone's Walk away the pounds videos. Matter of fact today I went to walmart and bought her 4 mile Punch up your walk... it comes with wrist weights. I have a HRM and burned 543 calories. I'me going to try and do it every other day. Love it!!

I have a few of her DVDs and really love them! I love the walk + jog one, and then one that is 1-mile per day for five days -- each mile focuses on a different part of your body, and you can combine any number of them into one workout, so you'd range from 1-5 miles at a time.

I don't have a heart rate monitor, but the walk + jog and doing 2 of the miles together on the other DVD both kick my butt! I love them and am pouring sweat afterwards.

    Hope that helps.

I had a couple of her DVD's and just got 2 more this past weekend. I tried the 30 day shred a while back, but found it too hard. I too have chronic pain issues (fibromyalgia for one) and my innards just could not handle it. Yes, these "walking" DVD's can make you sweat all right! It's not as easy as some may think. It's more than just walking.

I got mine thru Amazon, but I've seen them at Target & Walmart, Barnes & Noble, etc.
  • I really like this work out... there are several to chose from. I bought the one that has the 4 workouts in one, and the only drawback to this one is that when you chose to only do 1, 2, or 3 miles, the cool down is still at the end of the 4th mile. I worked around it by watching the cool down a couple of times, and then just created my own from there. I found my DVD at Wal-Mart, for 9.99 and it came with the stretching band (used in the more advanced workouts).

Let me know what you think if you get it. :)

I've been doing 30 Day Shred but causing to much pain in my knees. I managed level one ok with no jumping jacks but level 2 after a couple day hurt to much. I just going to stick to Leslie Sansone and my treadmill
