I've decided that I need to lose this weight now. I just found this site and am giving it a go. I need all the suggestions that anyone has. I have tried just about every diet there is but I am so tired of being the Fat one in the family.

Welcome to MFP! It's a great site and really helps. I lost 20 pounds within the first couple months.

Welcome, I can suggest more fresh fruits and veggies, lean meats like chicken and fish, lots of water and most of all, you can always come to us for anything!

I recently saw someone at work, who'd I'd not seen in awhile and he had dropped quite a bit of weight since the last time I saw him. When I asked what he was doing, he mentioned calorie intake vs. calories burned type of thing. I filed that in my mind - as my clothes continued to grow tighter. Then my husband happened to send home a link to this website and I later got on and was poking around but didn't get serious until a couple of weeks later. That was a little over a month ago. So, in a month I've lost 6 lbs - which to me is a fair amount.

What this site has done for me is shown me exactly where I've been out of line regarding my food choices - where calories are concerned. At the same time that I began seriously using this site I also made a pact with myself to do at least 30 minutes of exercise daily. There's really no excuse why we can't give ourselves 30 minutes of our own day - it's for our own good.

So, my suggestions to you - make some friends (add me if you like) - people here are very supportive, log in routinely and then go with the tools provided. It's really not that hard and I find that I look forward to checking in and seeing my successes on my news feed.

If you have questions, people here are quick to assist and there is a lot of great information to be found on the Message Boards and Blogs.

Best of luck to you! :flowerforyou:
