gaining weight as body adjusts.

So recently, I finally made the decision to eat back most of my exercise calories. I haven't net 1,200 regularly in awhile, so I was likely in starvation mode, but I was losing weight. I finally realized this wasn't healthy or good for me in terms of maintaining weight loss or maintaining muscle mass. I decided to start netting 1,200 a few days ago (with one day over that due to an anniversary dinner out). I've put on a few pounds, it seems and in general just feel a bit bigger around the midsection. Does anyone have experience with gaining when you up your net at first? Did it drop off for you soon after your body realized it wasn't starving? Thanks!

Hey there! I did exactly this. First of all, run don't walk, to your measuring tape. I did gain weight and it stuck for a few weeks...and frankly still hasn't moved too much...but I lost a lot of inches. Your body is thrilled it's getting enough now, and isn't sure if you will keep feeding it...so it's hanging on temporarily. Once it realizes this is the new norm you should start shedding the fat. HTH!!

I didn't eat mine back and my weight loss stalled for over a YEAR AND A HALF. If you aren't losing weight, you have nothing to lose...if you are still losing then you should be fine. Don't eat them unless you're hungry..but make sure you net 1200 minimum just to keep the body working. :-)

I wasn't losing consistently on 1250 cals, so I upped my cals to 1480.

Over the first three weeks after I upped my intake, I only lost about 300grms (which I think is about 0.5lb??), but the following 2wks I lost 2.5kg (which is about 5.5lbs). I had nearly given up, but I was told to give it a month before I did. I'm so glad that I did.
