    Do these count?

    1) Food scale. I weigh out most food before eating it so I know exactly what I'm eating. I was overestimating some things and underestimating others.

    2) HRM. it counts calories, sure, but it is also super motivating. I know when I'm working out hard and when I can put more effort into it. It also stores 99 sessions so I can go back and see how I've improved. I have a Polar FT7 and I haven't exercised without it since I got it.

Food Scale is an awesome selection.

    Infomercial gizmos, stay away from.

Gym / healthclub: cardio machines and weight training give you 40% of what you need. The food scale and food selection will give you the other 60%
