Hi

Maths has never been my strong point though I can manage basic addition and subtraction (I think!). However I'm not sure which method is most accurate to count my weight loss?

For example.. My starting weight I have put as 12st 7 as I was stuck on this for a year (even though I'd originally got down from 16st to 11st 7).

so I went from 12st 7 to 11st 10 = 10 lbs? then went back up to 12st 2 after my monthly cycle.. I've only lost 2lbs of the water that went on and back to 12st today which would total 12 lbs loss? (10 + 2) or 7lb loss (12st 7 - 12 st) ?

Answer 7 lbs from Your "starting" weight.
And ofc 12 lbs overall :).
    You answered Your own question.
And those numbers are good for? What are You trying to track?

Start counting Your miles, repetitions and how much You lift and stuff like that.
Try becoming better at Your exercises if You are not exercising then start :)

It's 7 lbs I'm afraid. But the maths is a lot easier if you do it entirely in lbs (American style) or in kilos.
