Love Starbucks but hate the calorie counts?
I absolutely love Starbucks and could go there every day several times a day if I had the cash to do so. However, it's really off-putting to me that my favorite thing to get, a chai latte frappuccino is 300 calories and 67g sugar made with nonfat milk (or 350 calories with whole milk). Whew... That's almost an hour in the gym for me. Not worth it. I recently got one of those individual cup coffee makers that uses the little filter pods and I started experimenting. So, here's my Vanilla Chai Latte Frappuccino.
6 ounces dark roast coffee - cold
6 ounces french vanilla coffee - cold
2tbsp International Delights Chai Latte creamer
1/2cup almond milk
Ice
Mix and blend - makes about 20 ounces depending on how much ice you use.
135 calories and 17g sugar with creamer or 65 calories and 5g sugar without creamer
And, it tastes REALLY good. I think I might try mixing chai tea with the french vanilla coffee to get the chai taste without the creamer. Not sure yet. I haven't gotten that adventurous yet.
Moral of the story - be creative and you can eat healthier without denying yourself the things you love. Now excuse me while I go get my caffeine fix for the day.
Anyone else have any good iced frappuccino recipes?

I was a Sbux addict myself ... then I started experimenting with protein powder .. I was a mocha girl at Sbux so my favorite protein drink is 1 scoop dark chocolate protein powder, 1 T natural PB, 1/2 packet of the Mocha Via (mostly for the sugar) and 1 1/2 cups unsweetened almond milk ... throw it all in the blender with ice and enjoy. 289 calories, 7.5 grams of sugar ...
I suppose you could use real coffe and throw a Truvia or Splenda in there too but I haven't gone that far yet.0 -

I have a mochaccino protein powder that I'll have to start adding to this.As simple as it seams to make this my breakfast smoothie, I actually haven't thought of adding the powder to it. *lol*

I am a Starbucks Addict. I have it every day. I always end up way too low on calories so I don't worry about it. I take my light soy milk over to the Sbux and have them make me a venti light coffee frapp, and that is my studying snack. 150 calories, yo.0
