A Quick Pick-me-up Thought

I heard this at church last Sunday:

"Your failures do NOT define you!"

"...Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:13b, 14 NIV84)

I've been reminding myself of this since Sunday. So many times on my journey to become healthy and lose weight, I'll do great for a week to a month or so, then something happens and I always seem to get back into the same old unhealthy lifestyle. I'll let the burdens and trials of everyday life wear on me, and I'll try to make myself feel better with food. And honestly, it's those "failures" at being a healthy person that have kept me from being who I want to be when it comes to my health I was just sure that when I got started down the right road, I was destined to fail. I'd think, "I've done this so many times and have failed; what makes me think this time will be different?" That's a sorry attitude to have when you start something: that you're probably going to fail.

The quote about motivates me. Sure, I'm going to mess up. I'm going to maybe eat something that is not the wisest of decisions. However, I choose to overlook those minor mishaps and keep pushing onward! I will NOT let the possibility of failure deter me anymore.

Ok, sorry, that has been on my mind, so I thought I'd share. I have over 100 lbs to lose, and I'm going to do it. One day at a time. My failures are not going to define me. If you struggle with the same issues I do, hope this helps. Feel free to add me! Have a great day everyone!
