Hey, everyone
I'm hoping to become part of a great support network here. The lack of daily f2f encouragement and accountability is hard on me. I am a member of a great mailing list, but participation fluctuates a lot, and often there's no one there when I need a hug--or a boot to the behind!
I'm a new empty nester and that combined with another issue or two makes for a tough adjustment time right now. I"m trying to re-discover exactly who I am and what *I* like to do, as opposed to filling everyone else's needs.
I LOVE beadwoman's tag line: "Don't stuff your face--face your stuff!" I think that's a big part of staying on the weight loss path--dealing with the emotional "demons" that helped pack on the lbs in the first place. If you're forever fighting those demons, eating right isn't always high on the priority list.
Okay, enough of that for now! Can't wait to meet everyone!

Welcome to MFP! You will definitely find some inspirational stories and plenty of helpful resources here to stay motivated. Feel free to add me if you wish but I can't do the F2F interaction thing...I really should update my user photo.0

Hi Jewels. I am 54 with grown children. One is still living at home (21 yrs old). I gained weight in my late twenties. I took it off in my late thirties (60 lbs). Late 40s gained back about 40lbs. My son got married last year. So I lost 25 lbs for wedding. then in the last year i gained back about 15lbs. So now am trying again with the help of this site. Each time I slowly gained the weight. The diary here has helped me alot. I see the calories I am eating . I do some exercising. It nice to see the calories I burn also work into place. You can add me as friend if you like. I is nice to see somebody my age ( or close to it) trying to do the same thing.0

Welcome Jewels, This is a great site to get support and get that boot in the butt when you need it. Feel free to add me if you would like additional support. Would be happy to give and get some in return.0

Oops, sorry, I realize no one here can do the f2f thing; I just meant that an active forum would be the next best thing.0
