Comfort Eating and Food Addiction

I know i'm not the only person in the whole world who gets satisfaction out of eating something that tastes really good. Our bodies are made that way, but I just wanted to know if anyone had any helpful tips to compulsive eating. When i'm stressed or tired, I always want to eat more. I will pick at terrible food all day long sometimes. I try to hide food from myself, but that rarely works, and my husband is no help because he "doesn't see any problem with it". but I just get so ravenouse sometimes, I will even wake up at 3am, and all i want to do is wander to the kitchen and stuff my face then lay back down. can any one help or even relate?

the only things I have found that help me (most of the time) are going for a quiet walk or meditating or both0

Sometimes if I'm tempted to eat something for comfort or out of boredom, I will make myself go brush my teeth. I never want to eat with toothpaste aftertaste!0

I would love to both go for a walk and meditate, but I have a 7yr old girl and an 18month old girl, and we're a very involved family from wake up to bed time.0

I stress eat too! And eat when I'm bored, tired, sad, happy... I would say I am an addict. I understand where you are coming from! I think the only thing that has really been helping me is drinking lots more water, and gum when I'm feeling chewy. It will get better.0
