Will this help burn fat?

Every day, I'm going to do this Gold's Gym Stayball DVD. I like doing the DVD, but I don't feel a lot of pain while doing it and it's considered as strength training. Am I going to lose any weight by this? It's winter time, so I don't have a lot of choices for exercise and I want something that will easily fit into my schedule and help calories!

I'm not familiar with that DVD. But strenth training will help tone, boost your metabolism to help you keep burning fat long after you've done your strength training, keep your blood sugars leveled out and help keep hunger at bay because of the metabolism boost.

Cardio is great for the body as well, gets your cardio system stronger and healthier which helps you workout longer among many other things.

Eating healthier, drinking plenty of water...that is what will help you lose WEIGHT! Long as you got the food covered, strength training will help in the toning, good to add some cardio though to balance a workout out and help burn off those cals!

Hope something here helped ya bit:bigsmile:

Strength training is great! However, you shouldn't feel pain while you're doing strength training. It should be tough yes, but not painful (except maybe the next day when you're sore). Strength training alone isn't going to burn as many calories as cardio. You really need to add in some cardio, even if it's jumping around your house or going up and down the stairs. You can break it up into two 10 minute segments (to equal at least 20 minutes). Maybe 10 min. in the morning and 10 min. at night. Good luck, you're on your way!

    mickie said it!

I strength train every other day. Occasionally I over do it and the next day a spot hurts, but I ice it and it goes away.

What I am doing must be working, because I gotz me some muscles!!

:flowerforyou: Good for you for going for it!
  • Thank you all so much! I have another Tamilee Web tape, Legs of Steel, that I thought might help. I used to run in place to lose weight, I think if I change those workouts throughout the week...will that help? I thought about maybe alternating to a different workout every day.

Oh yes, changing things up is always a good idea. Helps you to stick with it too!:flowerforyou:
  • Thanks! I'm not too happy about only losing 4.1 pounds by February 9, but I guess that's the healthy way to go. You know, when I type in my exercise DVD, nothing comes up in the exercise search button. I don't really know what to put for my workout stuff, since they don't seem to have workout videos on storage. Oh well, at least I know I'll be burning calories! Thanks for the help!:flowerforyou: :drinker:
