I'm accountable to myself

just some things I want to say "out loud"....
I'm responsible for my own health. My own decisions determine how healthy or unhealthy I am. The only reason I haven't broken the 200 pound barrier officially is because I sabotage myself by eating homemade oatmeal cookies and I have been staying up later watching the Food Network while I munch on food (even though I'm not hungry).
Its time to officially get under 200 (and keep going from there). Its time get my rock solid will power thing going again. Its time to beat complacency with an ugly stick. Eff complacency! I know what I need to do and I will do it.
That's all.

NICE!
I know you can do it. You have done fabulous thus far and to push yourself to the next level will be an amazing learning process for you.
Breaking those habits that sabatage is a definate step in the right direction. I replaced mine.. for example, when I want dessert after dinner I enjoy a hot chai tea with cream and truvia.. LOVE IT! Totally satiates the craving and warms my soul at the same time.. I really look forward to it now.. something I so enjoy. = )
Really happy for you.. can't wait to hear the results of upping your dedication.0 -
Agreed! Quite often I have to look back at the reason I am doing this...for my health. Sure I look better, smaller, and do so much more but the real reason I'm doing this is to get off some of my meds.
Thanks for reminding me of that.0 -
the funny thing is that I avoided complacency for 6 months. I ate cheerios instead of eating a co-worker's birthday cake. I avoided the downstairs snack place (the one with the yummy homemade cookies) like the plague. I rocked. I'm still doing solid, but I'm letting complacency creep in at times...and if you give that nasty complacency creep an inch, he will fight for more. Sure, I've continued losing weight...but I'm giving up opportunities to have better results sooner. I can no longer give the complacency creep an inch. The idea of "eh, I'll get there eventually" has to stop.
It is time to go to the next level and my decisions will get me there.0 -
Very good for you! I have also let "it" creep in once in a while. My sister-in-law suggested that everytime I want to munch on something to go brush my teeth. It works! You can't eat a cookie, or anything right after brushing, it is just gross. So, maybe try that the next time you want to snack when you are not hungary. And that food channel is wonderful, but horrible at the same time. You get so many wonderful ideas, but the power of suggestion really makes you just want to eat. Have a super day, and brush, brush, brush. LOL0

As a food blogger, it pains me to admit this... but I simply stopped watching the Food Network and Cooking Channel except for two permitted times: Saturday or Sunday mornings after I eat breakfast or while I'm on the elliptical.
On weekend mornings, both networks feature actual cooking shows -- rather than those ridiculous and annoying cupcake challenges -- so I find the quality of the experience to be vastly improved. Also, since I've had my breakfast and am snuggling with the dog, I don't find the shows create cravings. Broiled rack of lamb doesn't sound appealing first thing in the morning. :-)
When I watch the shows while working out, I get to enjoy the programming, and by the time I finish the workout and shower, whatever indulgent food I saw has already slipped my mind.
When you're channel surfing, consider quickly switching away from either network unless it's your 'permitted' time to watch them.0 -
I watch "Hungary Girl" it's pretty interesting because she has alternative ways to cook items with at least 1/2 the fat and calories.. some of it looks sort of gross, but sometimes you wouldn't notice the difference.0
