Appetite

It seems to me that I see alot of folks make comments like, "I couldn't hit my calories today, I just had no appetite" and they seem worried about that. Does anyone else feel like we are disregarding one of our bodies most important tools for being healthy? When I started on MFP, I truly did not know what "hungry" felt like. I know what "stressed" or "cravings" felt like. I suspect I also mistakenly thought "thirst" was "hunger".
But I have worked really hard to get better in tune with my body and its signals. Now, If I get to the end of the day and I have calories left over, I don't stress. I end the day and move on. Because I know that there will probably be another day that week that I need or want a bit more calories. I always drink my water, I add my exercise calories to my net total and I do make sure I eat at least 1200, but if I end the day at 1300, I consider that a good thing.
Just curious as to what everyone else's thoughts are about this. :ohwell:

I agree, I tend to exercise everyday so that adds a of of cals. There is no way I am going to try to cram an extra 300 or 400 extra cals in just to reach my total. But I do tend to get net calories of 12-1500 everyday, so I guesss that's okay. You will get a lot of people stating the opposite however and talking about starvation mode.0

Yes, I expect that, but I guess I would like to hear from some fitness or medical professionals. If I eat 1000 one day and 2000 the next, am I really endanger of going into "starvation" mode? I would think you would need to surpress your calories over at least a few days before that happened.0
