I posted a topic early about having a hard time losing weight, and I was told that I may need to increase my calories. I was set at 1200 by MFP and I tried to stay under that, so between 1100-1200 daily, and working out 7 days a week. I want to manually increase my daily calorie goal. What should I set it at? 1400?? TIA

I think 1400 sounds about right. After one month of no progress, I up'ed my calorie goal by 200 & it seems like it is starting to work.

you can likely cut on much higher then 1200, you would most likely lose weight eating upwards of 1900 cals

Sometimes setting to 1lb loss per week instead of 2lb loss per week is the key.

My guess is that you set at 2lb / week because you want to lose quickly.

yes, eating more would help many of us , as backwards as you might think it is :) 1700 to 2000 is best for me
  • I adjusted my activity settings from sedentary (I'm in Customer Service) to Lightly Active and starting losing almost right away.

That just seems like so much, but considering I was probably eating upwards of over 3000 calories a day "before", I can see how even 1900 would be a huge difference.

That's exactly what I did LOL I'll just keep testing it and hopefully I find a range that works best for me too.
