no matter what I am eating to day I feel VERY hungry!

I have been eating pretty good choices too....

for breakfast I had cereal (ok) but then for lunch I had salad (lettuce, tomato, carrots, cucumber, light dressing) and some watermelon and a string cheese

I snacked, had a special K crisp, a pc of toast with PB, and indulged in a ritz crackerful (130 cal well worth it ;) mmmm)

but I am still quite hungry. I don't want to totally blow the rest of the calories for the day. I have been doing EXTREMELY well this week and have lost weight. but seriously I am wanting something GOOOD now

I was waaay under my calories 2 times this week (especially with exercise) so is my body trying to eat more today to make up for earlier in the week?

    You need more protein.

In a word...yes. Yes it is. Your body is screaming at you. You haven't eaten much at all and there is almost zero protein going on there. It's all carby which is going to make you constantly and consistently hungry. Eat something substantial...hopefully high in protein/fiber. Your body needs to those calories and it's mad! Feed the beast! :-)
  • I agree you are lacking protein....especially if you are burning calories your body need the protein to sustain and give energy!!

Yes, you need more protein, and also some healthy fats.
  • The problem may be too many simple carbs. I always feel hungrier when that's most of my diet. Add some fruits and veggies (you can add LOTS of them for not too many calories) and you'll feel much more satisfied. They've saved my life! Good luck. You can do it!

BTW, salads aren't the best thing for feeling satisfied. I like to roast or grill my veggies. They're a world different from steamed. The other thing that would help is to eat more food that has some liquid to it. My daughter fixed two chicken dishes that both had yummy low-calorie sauces. She served one over cilantro-lime rice (like Chipotle's) and the other over mashed cauliflower (1 head of cauliflower and 1 potato, chopped and cooked until very tender then mashed well with 1/4 cup sour cream and a little Parmesan). Everything felt like comfort food, both filling and delicious, but sill low calorie.

Hang in there. You have done such a great job losing weight. Now you're entering into the hardest part, keeping it off. I hate to think how many times I lost then gained. Eating healthfully is the only way to keep it off. (At least, the only healthy way  )

What kind of cereal? Was it high in fiber and low in sugar?
Was your toast 100% wheat or 100% whole grain? Fiber keeps you full.
Same with the crackers... if you eat cheese, try adding some cheese to it for the protein.
Sounds like you need to add more protein to your diet. Try snacking on nuts and seeds, or greek yogurt, and of course lean chicken or sirloins/filets, if you eat meat.
  • Yup, I'm chiming in with another vote for protein. And are you drinking enough water?

Like another poster stated , it seems like alot of carbs. Carbs make me hungry.Maybe add some protein. This is what works for me.

    Quaker oatmeal cereal

    it was 100% wheat toast

and I am sure the cheese in the crackers was anything but real cheese ;)
