BMR/MAINTAINANCE/BMI???

after looking at a few posts on here tonight i have well & truly confused myself!
i'm 5'3 and weigh 127lbs. would like to lose a bit more or tone up and lose inches.
BMI=22, BMR=1400(ish), maintainance calories=1700(ish)
MFP have me down as 1200 calories (to lose 1lb a week) which i changed to 1400 (to lose 0.5lb) as 1200 is ridiculous and i was starving!
i walk 30 minutes everyday and go to the gym 3-4 times a week for weights. my net calories are between 830-1200 daily depending on exercise. should my net calories be higher and am i starving myself? have i confused you? ;0)x

Your net cals should be your goal cals, in your case 1400 to lose 0.5lbs/week. The less you have to lose the closer you Net cals should be to maintenance, and it is best if your net is at or above your BMR, unless you have a lot of fat stores.0

Don't forget to add food if you are working out. You should be eating the calories that you use on your workout. Otherwise, you will starve your body and not loose weight. Hope this helps :>0

my daily walking is around 250 calories and the gym adds another 350-400. wot do you recommend i aim to eat?

I would say a minimum of 1200+ what your burn (1200+250+350-400) up to and preferably 1400+ what you burn (1400+250+350-400)0 -

thank you, finally getting to grips i think, so on non gym days im looking at 1400 and gym days 1600? after reading forums i started to worry my net was way under and i was actually starving myself!0
