today i finished week 5 day 2...but to pace myself the whole 2 x 8 mins i took tiny steps and ran pretty slow, slower than normal....would you still count this as a successful day? or would you repeat until you could run your regular pace? thanks in advance

I would count that as successful. I listen to a podcast when I do C25K that gives me my running/walking cues. They actually said you should run at a nice, slow pace so that you don't get defeated and give up. My plan is to just be able to run the 5K all at once, no matter how slow, and work on speeding it up once I can do that.0
