Questions re: The New Rules of Lifting for Women

So, just bought the book and started skimming through on my phone...my question is: For the Stage 1 workouts...do you just do "workout 1,2" in each exercise for the first week and then continue to "workout 3,4" etc as you keep going per day? Or should I do each exercise that many times? how do you know when to change the type of squat you're doing, for example?

    for stage 1 you will do work out A eight times and work out B eight times. You alternate these two until you do eight of each with one day of rest in between (more if you'd like). You do each of the five exercises per the reps and sets listed for each work out. The bonus work outs are to be done after you finish the eight work outs each of a and b on separate days to show your progress.

    I love this program...i'm on stage 1 work out a #5 :D results are killer but make me so hungry!
