I ran in college (cross country & track team) and have a hard time running now because I am feel that I am so slow compared to before, so :

Has anyone reached the milestone of getting to the same pace times they had way back when?

Knowing that someone has done it will help me :flowerforyou:

So please share your running success stories, that would be great

thanks -
M.

I never ran in college, but self-trained myself to some fairly decent times (10K @ 39:59). I too had let myself get too far out of shape, and found it really frustrating starting over. My mind remembered the speed, but my body didn't.

So far I've lost 20lbs, with 7-10 more to go before I get back to the weight when I could run my fastest. I recently finished a 10K at 45:09 (7:16 pace) after only 4 months of starting over. Who knows, maybe in another 4 months I'll be closer to that 10K PR!

I don't have any history to compare to... But I can tell you that when I started running on the treadmill earlier this year, I could only do about 4.3 mph and had to limit to 1-2 minute intervals. As I've continued througout the year, I've been able to build up to a solid 5mph with a distance of 2-3 miles outdoors and can now do 6mph intervals on the treadmill.
