Emotions?

Has anyone else experienced high emotions while losing weight? Here lately I can cry at the drop of a hat and I get frustrated with people over the littlest things. Is that normal or what?

I experienced a change of emotions, but for the better. I felt like I was constantly on a "Runner's high". Are you restricting your diet? I get VERY cranky when I'm hungry. Maybe focus more on exercising?

Totally! It is usually when I am not eating enough. Low blood sugar, mineral or vitamin deficiency, and also some weight loss supplements can cause irritability and mood swings.

Mine were all over the place especially in the beginning when I wanted to be as accurate with logging and measuring . It took more time than I that it would and I'd get frustrated with family being in the way!! Lol. Now that I'm in maintenance , I'm still learning to relax and trust the numbers. so yes, I have to continue to learn how to balance! And, I do think it is normal. :)

Are you getting enough sleep, are you eating the right foods and drinking plenty of water? Sometimes if I eat sugar, even the smallest amount I get very irritable. I have cut sugar out of my diet for that reason. It makes me a cranky one! :ohwell:
I hope things turn around for you. :flowerforyou:

I DEFINITELY get cranky when dieting, especially at the start of the diet. I think that the drop in calorie intake and blood sugar messes with your hormones, or something. I know that my boyfriend gets super cranky when he's hungry too, and he's not on a diet :)

Is that all the time or only at certain times of the month? I'm half joking, but since I've experienced those symptoms, I'm also serious too. Changes like that are often due to hormone changes in the body. The changes can be caused by weight loss, that special time of the month, depression or being in peri-menopause. Women can enter the peri-menopause phase as early as 30. It is not full blown menopause, but the body does begin to exhibit some of the symptoms of menopause. It is also due to a hormonal imbalance. So basically, it sounds like your hormones are out of whack. If it starts causing you problems, you should speak with your family doctor or gynecologist. I'm fortunate that I have a female family doctor...she has been through it so she understands what I'm going through. There are tests that can be done to find out what is out of balance. Good luck, and if you feel like hurting someone, just turn and walk away!!!

Again, I'm not trying to trivialize what your going through. But because I've experience what you are going through, I know there is nothing wrong with you or me (we're not crazy).
