Hi,
My name's Paul and I'm from near London in the UK.
I've tried to lose weight before and in fact lost about 90lbs a couple of years ago but put most of it back on again. Determined this time to keep it off.
My regime is 1800 calories a day and about an hour of walking for exercise. I originally planned to go running once I got down to something that doesn't wobble so much.
Looking for some encouragement and support so feel free to friend me!
Cheers
Paul

Hi welcome to MFP, you will find it a terrific site and everyone is so supportive, if you have a smart phone like the iPhone then download the free app for MFP too as it is very useful.
I must say congratulation on the weight you did lose that was terrific so you know you can do it again. Just one thing is 1800 calories is enough for a man and if it is then don't go below it because if you don't have enough calories your body will go into starvation mode and store what ever you eat as fat, also make sure you have carbs with your dinner at night, I wasn't and my dietitian told me off she said that was putting my body into starvation mode too
Good luck with you weight loss and add me if you like0 -
Thanks, I've added you.
I based 1800 on 2000-10% as I'd read somewhere that 10% was a reasonable reduction to make. I know that most places would take the base for a man as 2500+ but I have an office job (sat down all day) and before I started walking for exercise I didn't do much else. Over the last 26 weeks I've averaged just under 1.5lbs/week but I know that'll fall.
So I think you're probably right to raise an eyebrow but I am aware and keeping an eye on things.0
