Struggling with injuries

Recently I have been dealing with a couple of nagging injuries that are slowing down my progress towards accomplishing my goals of fat loss and muscle gain. I am hoping that others would be willing to share their experience with overcoming injuries.

The specific injuries that are impeding my progress include:

Left shoulder pain which is probably a rotator cuff (hope to see my doc next month about this).
This injury affects my ability to do bench press, military press, fly’s and standing rows. Strangely enough I am to do pushups, dips and cable pulls with little or no pain. (Seems to be related to the type of shoulder movement and the amount of weight).

Left elbow pain which is probably tendonitis related to overcompensating with my arm muscles due to the shoulder pain.
This affects my ability to do curls and lateral arm raises

Left Achilles pain which is either the tendon or the bursa (will see my doc in October for this as well).
This injury affects my ability to periods long than 30 minutes due to increasing pain
Sprint intervals, the elliptical machine and the stairmaster are tolerable.

Also, the Achilles does not affect my ability to do squats, leg press, leg raises or leg curls so I’m leaning towards just increasing resistance training for my lower body and decreasing my upper body workouts

To top it off I’m on the recovering side of a weeklong cold.

The thought occurred to me “Maybe I should just work out my right side” Ha!

In any event I would love to know how others are coping with nagging injuries and recovery.
