Is Truvia the same as stevia?

Is Splenda better or worse than the above since its an artificial sweetener?

Here is a good article on artificial sweeteners. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/artificial-sweeteners/MY00073

Truvia is a brand name of Stevia, so the same thing. Both are better than Splenda IMHO. I've deleted my diet of artificial sweeteners totally and feel much better. If you Google Splenda, Sorbitol, Nutrasweet, artificial sweeteners you will find a ton of scary stuff on the net. I've had several friends who had headaches/numbness/tingling/etc. that purged their diet of artificial sweeteners to have all the symptoms disappear. I myself have less aches and pains now as well. I particularly like Truvia as it tastes better than the Stevia box I got before. It is a bit of an acquired taste, but I feel my health is worth it!

yup, Truvia is just a brand named stevia sweetener, it's not artificial or a sugar derivative like Splenda. I used to use stevia many years ago and I liked it, I don't use sugar in very many things other than occasional baking, but I never noticed much difference in taste and unlike sugar-derived artificial sweeteners (all the others), it doesn't spike blood sugar like they ALL can.
  • I am trying to cut out artificial sweeteners and coloring from my diet. I found that Erythritol is a nice alternative if I MUST have something sweet.

I love this blog (http://www.healthyindulgences.net/) and found a great recipe for a black bean cake (sugar, gluten, flour free).
