Hello from Alaskan new member

I am a brand new member in Alaska. Funny thing is even though the climate here on the Kenai Peninsula is much more moderate then my home state, I still face the big challenge: Winter is coming and winter is here! I do recall promising myself that I couldn't let one more winter in hibernation mode make me have trouble being as active as I want in the great outdoors come spring-so here I am. When I was a girl my Granny always told me that the excess weight was just baby fat, when I was a young woman it really was baby fat, but now my baby is 25 years old and long out on her own, and the darn fat has got to go! Since I hit the empty nest big time, major life changes it is time to seize hold and shape my future. I am hoping that participating with MFP will help me to be accountable. :laugh:
