How about we condense it down to 2:

    1. You're consuming more calories than you're burning.
    2. Your fluid balance has changed due to an internal or external influence.

    I like to KISS.

I had read some viewers were struggling with their weight..I just thought I'd post this. I hope it's helpful to some or all..
Weight can be a struggle...but isn't life itself a struggle at times? We have made it this far in life...we can win this "struggle" in losing weight.. Just thinking positive.. :flowerforyou: :drinker:

But most likely, you're gaining weight because you laze about and eat crap.

Y'know, back when I was young and actually COULD lose weight just by eating less, I believed that. Then, I started gaining without changing my diet. I watched my mother, who is a NURSE, by trade struggling with weight while eating a healthy... 800-900 calories on most days. I took 2 years to lose 30 pounds while exercising 24 hours every week (4 hours per day, six days a week) on a strict 1100 calorie, closely-balanced diet.

The article was about people who eat healthily and in-control and exercise and STILL gain weight. No real need for generalized attacks on a group of people who are doing their best, is there?

Well said and I agree! I have about 4-5 of those reasons going on in my life! I am eating healthy, eating my calorie allowance, and doing everything right while exercising 6 days a week and still gaining! So darn frustrating!

I don't think either of you were eating enough will all the exercise you were doing, I think that's why it took you so long to lose the weight. JMO

This. Underdoing it is as bad as overdoing it for your health. When eating too few calories and exercising all those hours a week, your energy level would plummet and your metabolism would be struggling to hold anything it could.
