It really depends on you and your body. I was able to lose three pounds a week, sometimes more, and it was good for me. As long as you're not starving yourself or hurting your body, I see nothing wrong with it.

If you need to lose 20% or more of your bodyweight to be healthy it will be fine.

It's really not healthy to lose more than 1 per week....most people can still lose 1.5-2 a week and it's not too bad but 3 (w/o talking to a Dr. first) is reallyyy pushing it...
  • well! As far as I know loosing 2lbs a week is good... It also depend upon individuals how easily you shed weight. I dont know what you are doing to loose weight apart from calorie track. My suggestion is try to find some Zumba classes near you. It's fun and you loose weight fast in it. Even I have joined one and have been going there for a week. I burn around 500 calories in an hour and I feel light n more energetic. I am also planning to loose 10lbs will Halloween. Even if I wont achieve my goal, I am sure I'll be close to it.
    Hope my suggestion helps.

1/2 - 2 lbs. per week is considered healthy weight loss.
  • See I'm so torn maybe I shouldn't push myself gradual weight loss is the best weight loss, I do attend a gym, and I make sure to eat right and at right amounts...but maybe I should continue to do as i have and let the chips fall where the may.
  • Be careful to NOT set yourself up for failure! I am losing quickly. 10 pounds in 2 1/2 weeks but I'm sure it will slow down. Take a look at my food diary. Maybe it will help. Good luck!!
