orrrrrrrr you could seek professional help

    Just saying.

I don't have the opportunity to at the moment. Trust me, I would have a long time ago.

If it's a money thing try a local Women's Center, they offer counseling for a low cost. Also, just find better friends. I'm a former ED girl, who still struggles to eat enough and my friends on MFP haven't dumped me yet. *Smooches* (with a side of punches for your craptastic ex-friends)

Edited to add: After reading some of your forum posts maybe it has less to do with your ED and more to do with...other things.
  • I am recovering from an ED also, overwater and I would purge, but had days where I wanted the feeling of food.
I actually was referred by my dr if I ca not get help to go to overeTers anonymous. It's. Psychological issue they got to the root of my eating. Then when I felt I had my "extremes " under wrap I decided to join MFP to get healthy again the right way

Oh, you must be American. I'm not aware that it costs money for an appointment.

Usually quite a bit of money, upfront, even if you have insurance.

Oh and I'm not trying to be mean or anything. Seriously, I'd LOVE to see you stop purging and to lose weight healthily and feel better about yourself.
But you need to make that first step. You understand that it's not going to be good to your body or health, you must understand that recovery is nessecary also.
understanding and doing are two different things
    ignorent peopppppppple
you dont just tell anorexic people to eat. or there wouldnt be any people extreamly under weight.
you are a mfp user not a dr.
shut up. obviously holly has tried in some ways. if you even paid attention to her news feed or diary you would know that. people dont just have eds because they want to

    Ignorant*
And I wasn't being ignorant, I know she's tried, I've seen her go a day or two without purging, only to do it again.
I said I WANT her to get better. I know that understanding and doing are two different things. But once you understand that it's ruining your health, you should begin to come to terms with it and eventually seek help.
I may be a MFP user, but I'm also a trainee nurse, thank you.

If all of my friends are going to keep deleting me for having an ED, I might as well delete my account. Right?

I am NOT deleting you bcuz of an ED. I am deleting you cuz you make excuses as to why your ED is out of control, and never take any good advice given, and are constantly negative. You seem to be an attention seeking child with a bad attitude. Blaming MFP for your ED is seriously a new low. I honestly hope the best for you and wish you well. You are indeed sick and in dire need of help. Im sorry for the harshness of my words but I think you get enough atta girls and need some reality.

I don't know anything about Holly or this specific situation, but I think sometimes we forget that our "friends" on MFP need to be mutually beneficial.

We aren't just friends with people so that they can help us *or* so we can help them. It is so that we are both helping ourselves and helping others at the same time.

At any point that isn't happening, then it is probably time to "defriend". It might be nice to tell the person why, but if you can't you can't.

If these people defriended her, it might have been having negative affects on their progress.

As for her, if these people couldn't support her in the way she needed, then it isn't a loss for her progress (not that they aren't good people).
