Smiling Scales?

Never in my life have I stood on the scales with a smile on my face... but this morning, I did!
This progress really excites me, as I am conquering a few fears/demons which have been with me since childhood. Always been told, on an emotional level, that 'you're always the chubby kid', which really held back my self esteem. I wasn't allowed to go swimming without a t-shirt on (because Mum thought it was inappropriate and a 10 year old that was only 'slightly chubby to bare all in public). I was constantly told to wear clothes 1 size too big, just for coverage.
Looking back, this pains me. I really wasn't big at all! Even throughout my adult-life, I have been a consistent 136ish lbs, with a height of 5ft. It wasn't until I opened up, starting reading stories on MFPal, that what I felt emotionally about my body image definitely didn't match reality. I am happy to see a turn around in my physical perception of my body image.

How we feel about ourselves is probably the most important factor in how we interact with others and how confident we are in all aspects of life, including career, social life and relationships. Congratulations on getting a leg up on your personal demons. If you like to read someone recommended a book on one of my sights and I have just started reading it... the title is "Younger Next Year" is is pretty inexpensive on Amazon in paperback... I have liked what I have read so far... maybe it will help further your journey. Good Luck and keep moving forward.0
