I need help!!!!!!!!!
I dont know how to stop binging T.T
How does one do that????????????
everytime I go through an emotional distress I end up with icecream, chocolate, or worse both and lots of them

I need help please!!!!

  • i can totally relate lol anyways my biggest tip is to CHEW GUM or leave your house for a walk (away from the junk) and when the cravings aren't that bad i just brush my teeth so nothing will taste right or paint my nails
  • Go to the mall and try on clothes!! It helps me lol... Unless I'm having a fat day then I stear clear...

    Trying on clothes is a good one, but I just try to remeber why I am doing this in the first place!

    Lots of small snack/meals throughout the day. I try to plan out my diary a day before, then I have something to stick to. It's not easy, hang in there, you can do it!!!! And try not to have any naughty foods in the house.

    Well I would say first find an activity to distract yourself. . A lot of the things that we do. . we do out of habit. . whether it is healthy or not. .

    They say that if you do something for 30days then it becomes a new habit. . so for instance maybe everytime you feel stressed you go for a walk, or do some yoga, or listen to music that you love that pumps up your mood. .

    Just a thought. . .And like someone else said getting out of the house away from temptation is good. . Me personally I just know that there are certain things that I can't have in my house food wise because it would be too tempting for me to eat it, or eat too much. . .

    Just my thoughts. . I also formed a DAILY SMILE ROOM to come and grab some positive energy from when you are feeling down or stressed. .   • I think it's important to consider how often you're having these "emotional distresses". Are you bingeing every other day? Once a week? Once a month? If you're constantly in distress then there might be other issues that you need to get to the bottom of apart from the food. You might have to prune some things/people/habits in your life that erode your peace of mind.

    How ready are you to commit to better nutrition? There's no silver bullet. It's all going to begin and end with you making a command decision to replace your bingeing behavior with something more adaptive. What's your workout routine like? Perhaps you can force yourself to pick one exercise specifically for those moments of distress, say crunches. And MAKE yourself do them until you just can't anymore.

    One thing that can work is not buying that stuff. Not having it in the house. Having to put on clothes and go buy it can be an insurmountable hurdle in itself if you're feeling down in the dumps and unmotivated.
  • Ummmm.....I just went to your profile and, quite honestly, I'm a little puzzled. How long have you been using MFP and how often are you on here? You don't have any MFP friends so you're missing out on some valuable support and accountability. Also, are you logging your food and exercise? I'll send you a friend request but I'm just going to give it to you straight....I wonder how invested and ready you are to do things differently.

    It helps me to keep the right foods in the house. It takes a lot of time and planning but it is the only way I have been able to stay on track. I also enter my food before I eat it unless I fall off the wagon on something. If I do, I enter that food immediately so I can see how much damage I have done and then try to work around it with my other meals and snacks. I have a sweet tooth so I have to keep something sweet around. I found some Whole Fruit popsicles that are pretty good. The Mango has 60 calories and the strawberry has 70 calories. They have been a life saver for me and the sweet tooth. Tomorrow is a new day. Try again and I am sure things will be better.

    thanks for all the support and advice
    I will certainly try to remember all that next time....

    About not buying the wrong food, its a bit of an issue...... since I still live with my family, and I don't really want to keep them from the sweets.... my sisters particularly love chocolates and ice cream
    I've managed to deal with it on my normal days.... but there are times seems just impossible.....
    and even if it sounds a bit odd have binged on healthy food too..... the problem isnt really the kind of foods (well... that too sometimes) but the AMOUNT I eat when I binge eat :( I once managed to eat 3000 cals a day on vegatables and brown rice.... yes, I felt sick for all day after that....

    About other problems.... I sure do have a lot of them.... and I AM trying to work them out
    but gaining weight is making me feel really down, so I thought maybe.... if I found some way to control those "incidents".... it would be easier to figure out the other issued......

    PS.: Leola, I have my MFP account for a long time..... but I kept my diary and profile locked, was afraid of being judged by other people.... but I thought I may give it a try to the group support :)
