I only discovered MFP 3 & a bit weeks ago & I love it. It seems so obvious, eat fewer calories than you need & you'll lose weight. I have been on so many diets where you can eat unlimited amounts of this & that, weight watchers & slimming world & they just haven't worked for me. Thanks to MFP & my iphone I have kept within my calorie allowance & lost 11lb. I didn't think this would be possible because I have injured my foot so exercise is very limited at the moment.

My favourite things about MFP are the recipe builder & the iphone food scanner, but having friends, reading other peoples posts & blogs etc is really motivational. I am going on holiday to the Canaries in 6 weeks & am already thinking about how I can log on while I'm there.

It is great isn't it, like you I have tried many diet's before and nothing really worked or the one's that did I was hungry all the time (like slimfast) and the weight would rebound but thanks to MFP i've lost 28lbs so far :)

I agree with you. I would have never thought and app/website was the key to my weight loss but it is! I think its because of the accountability - knowing if I eat it I have to log it and every one of my friends can see it. And like you said the motivation from friends - hearing their stories, knowing you aren't alone on this journey, having them challenge you. Just being aware of what foods you are eating and how bad/good they are for you is key too. Glad we all found each other here!
