After reading many posts on the forum i decided to shake up my gym sessions this week, less cardio (20 min brisk walk to the gym covers that!) and less reps with more weight...the result? 5lb off this week! Cant be right surely? i only use the gym scales and weigh once weekly.

It can definately be real! You should be doing just as much strength training as cardio in you workouts....strength training may burn less calories while you are performing the excercises but the burn continues after you work out...and the more dense muscle you have the more calories your body will burn all on it's own....also you have switched up your routine which is always a good thing to increase your calories burned...you should do this every month :)

Yep, you can believe it! Our bodies can get in a rut, and a change in the routine does make a difference. Congratulations!

exactly! Muscle is actually capable of burning fat - which obviously fat itself can't do. So weight training is really important, perhaps even more so - than cardio.

Congrats on the weight loss! keep it up! ;0)

It has a lot to do with the weight training - weight training is KEY for losing weight and getting in shape. Your body gets used to the workouts you're doing and weight loss will slow down. Mix things up and it will re-start things.
