Joined MFP at the end of August and have been doing ok and then all of a sudden it's the weekend again. I fail completedly during the weekends. I love to cook and unfortunately, eat. What do you do to get yourselves thru this 2 1/2 day period?

I try to stay busy, I'm not a big cook, so that probably helps. Why not try to find healthily recipes to cook. I try to keep healthy foods in the house for snacks.

Cook some healthy food! Lots of things with vegetables.

It's just as fun. Maybe even more fun since there can be a lot of prep work

I love to cook too, so the weekends have become a challenge solely based on portion control...and getting a good burn in on Saturday morning!!! Summer has been tough since we grill alot which turns into a lot of people coming over and bringing a side dish of deliciousness. I just get a teeny portion of everything and only go back for a small second portion of the stuff I like! That has saved me at family events, etc. You can do this!

i love to cook also. First i threw everything in my cupboard that was bad for you and stocked it with healthy foods. ive learned to go online and find healthy recipes and alternative ingredients to make my meals healthy. I also use a food scale to measure my portions. After a while, everything comes naturally for you. Weekends i always try to stay busy. I go for walks with my dog, go jogging @ a park, biking on a trail, fishing, swimming...you get the point, even staying home and doing housework. If you want to eat something snack on something healthy.

If i felt like i was going to fall off the wagon, i have a pair of big pants hanging in my closet and ask myself 'do i really want to be that size again?'

I also love to cook and on my days off am always looking to try new recipes. Like the others suggested, change your recipes to more healthier versions and you may also want to increase your exercise on the weekends.
