30 minute circuit training?

so my gym has an area for 30 minute circuit training that I started using 2 weeks ago. I just noticed a sign in the area where the rules are (like this area is only for circuit training not for people just wanting to use the machines) and at the very bottom it says to only do this 2-3 times a week with a break in between.
Anyone have any thoughts on why? Is it because it's pretty intense? The first week I did the circuit training 3 days in a row. This week I spaced it out. I've noticed tremendous results with weight loss this week, so I'm going to keep it up but want to make sure that I don't over do it...

I do the 30 day shred at home, which is circuit training, I've had great toning that is truly noticable. I am a fan of cardio and circuit training all the way.0

You do need to have a rest day and also keep things mixed up a bit. Stick to three days a week if you really enjoy it, and maybe do a couple of days on the cross trainer or treadmill in between?0

I'm noticing changes in just a few days. I am a huge cardio fan too, wasn't much of one before June of this year. Circuit training scared me, but I finally decided to try it and I'm in love! You do need to have a rest day and also keep things mixed up a bit. I agree with the keeping things mixed up. I was going to alternate a week of circuit training with a week of just generic weight machines; but after seeing that sign I think I'll keep doing the circuit training 3x a week with weights in between. My usual gym routine consists of weights for 30-40 minutes (abs, arms, legs, etc.) and then I am a HUGE fan of the arc trainer and depending on how long I do weights I'll do the arc machine for 30-60 minutes. However... I'm now seeing that I really don't have to go longer than 30-45 minutes on that so I'm going to cut it back some.0 -

You should rest between doing circuits and weights, as ur muscles need time to repair, but u can do light cardio on the days in between. doing weights in between circuit training isnt resting the muscles.0 -

I totally agree....Have you tried Yoga in between your rest days of circuit and weight training? I do circuit training 3x a week and pretty much everyday NO rest, In between days, I do 5x a week Power Yoga or a Iyengar Yoga session for 45 minutes and 2x a week 60-90 min of Power yoga...and I walk 7 days a week between 3 miles to 5.6, depending on weather! You may want to give Yoga a try...it's great for strength....don't be fooled like most people who say yoga is easy and is for relaxing LOL.... SO HARD!0 -

I think you should definitely take a rest day for circuit and weight training....Have you tried Yoga in between your rest days of circuit and weight training? I do circuit training 3x a week and pretty much everyday I do Power Yoga or a Iyengar Yoga session for 45 minutes and at least 2x a week 60-90 min of Power yoga...and I walk 7 days a week between 3 miles to 5.6, depending on weather!
You may want to give Yoga a try...it's great for strength....I think Yoga is better for strength, after all you are holding your own body weight for 30 sec postures....Plank is GREAT for strength...I also have Jillian's 30 day shred and honestly, i don't find it tough at all....and I believe it's because of Yoga...the push ups are easy and the planks that she does, easy and the stand on one foot move with the weights....easy!!!! Balance and strength in Yoga....don't be fooled like most people who say yoga is easy and is for relaxing LOL.... SO HARD!0
