Bit pleased with myself today

I managed to get to 5k on the elliptical in just on the nose of 30 minutes. I know that this is probably paltry for the superfit among us, but for me it was a Big Achievement.
Now, if I could only translate that to road running, I'd be a very happy girl.

you should totally try it out on the treadmill, and work your way up to doing it out on the road. i love the elliptical because it's great on the joints but you still get the cardiovascular workout like you do from running. congrats on your personal success and don't think twice about comparing yourself to others. keep up the hard work!0

Be VERY proud of yourself!!!:drinker: I did my first 5k on Labor Day and did it in just over 33 min...granted there was one road we had to walk on because i was starting to lose my footing on the crappy road we were on, but I did it!!! It was SOOOOOOOOOOOO emotional!! to go from 300lbs to a 5k was HUGE for me!!! It isn't about the time you took to get there, its the fact that you got there!!
I personally am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO friggen proud of you!!! You can do anything!!!0 -

A 5k is a great accomplishment!! And in 30mins! Thats super amazing!! I haven't ran one that fast yet, and I've done probably a dozen plus recently a half marathon! You are inspiring me right now with this!! Keep it up! You are totally ready to sign up for one!!! Let us know which one you pick! hehe ;-p0

I'm doing c25k on the road as well. I know that in the real world, I'm nowhere near what I can do on the elliptical. But I do like the elliptical, and I like seeing tangible fitness gains. Particularly as I've been notching up resistance levels on there too.
Thanks all for the words of encouragement. :-)0 -
