Hi just wondering if anyone else out there is using Dr. Kleiners book? I have been doing this off and on for 4 yrs. I was struggling with major depression and having tried numerous antidepressants that made me a zombie I stumbled upon this book and it changed my life. I was able to control my mood through food. It has been a roller coaster for the last 3 yrs with the birth of my son and the death of my father I once again turned to food to heal the sadness and stress. All that I had lost 105 lbs in 10mo easily came back with an additional 18 lbs. in a matter of a year and a half. Last October I felt my life literally fading away in the pounds and once again turned to the GMD. I lost 87 lbs in the first 9 months back on the diet until pain from my lower back hindered my exercise efforts. I have since struggled for the last 3 months gaining 30 lbs. I am starting again to follow the plan and would love to hear from anyone who is using Dr. Kleiners Good Mood Diet.

  • No I don't read that book. But I wonder if you are just walking for your back issue? Walking is the best exercise. Walking secretes the hormone seritonin (feel good hormone).

Plus, wondering what are you doing for your vitamin D deficiency? Taking the vitamin?

I hope you improve real soon, just stay busy that seems to help me fight depression.

It is a great book lots of great information. I was walking until having a disc in my back slip and spending a week laying flat. I have not done anything this summer because of the extreme Texas heat and bugs. I am looking forward to the cooler temps and getting outside.

I take 50,000UL of vitamin D a week and 5000 a day and i am just below the normal levels now. Thanks for the encouragement I look forward to a better mood in the near future.
