Starting a grueling workout soon and I wanted to hear from you all what your favorite protein shake/shake brand is, and what sort of things, if any u like to add to your shake to give it more protein or just add more to it.

Right now I have Body Fortress-Super advanced- Whey protein- vanilla- 26g of protein per one scoop. I have heard of adding peanut butter to this, bananas & strawberries. Any other good ideas? What's ur favorite brand?

    myofusion
    ultra peptide why and 2.0

i'm not big on shakes, but you can add greek yogurt, nutella, pb, olive oil, ice cream, oats, flax seed. a ton of things go pretty well with a decent protein powder
  • I am drinking Chocolate Shakeology and i have 3 recipes I rotate through but this week has been my "reeses cup" week lol ... I just add peanut butter - regular PB I love my PB2 for my Banana/Peanut Butter shake but I love the strong peanut butter taste and really feel like I am eating a dessert instead of something good for me :)

I drink my shake for breakfast and occasionally for lunch and I just ordered Nutiva Hemp Protein + Fiber to add to some of them .. I also drink P90X Results & Recovery occasionally I am not doing intense workouts so I dont use 4 tablespoons but I normally do 1 tablespoon in my bottle water I drink right after working out and so far I haven't been sore :)

    My favorite protein:
Dynamatize Nutrition - Iso-100 Whey Protein Isolate
    Serving size: 1/4 cup
    Calories: 106
    Protein: 25g
    Sodium: 50mg
    Vitimin C: 10%
    Calcium: 6%
    Carbs/Fat/Cholesteral: 000000

    My favorite Shake/Smoothie:
    Calories: 450-500
    3/4 cup 100% juice
    1 serving of Iso-100
    10 frosted mini-wheats . or . 1/4 cup raw oats
    6 oz fat free yogurt
    1/2 or 1 cup of frozen blueberries . or . 4 frozen strawberries . or . 1/2 banana

I have this at least 6 times/week, and have not grown tired of it.

Had a super yummy one form the shake place near me but you could totally make it at home too

    8 oz milk
2 scoops chocolate protein shake powder (herbalife)
    1 scoop vanilla protein (herbalife)
1/2 tablesppon sugar free cheesecake pudding instant mix
    1/4 teaspoon cocoanut extract
    1 cup ice

Takes like drinking an almond joy bar.
When I plugged in the ingredients on here it came out to 285 cal/25g protein

Depending on how many cals I have burnt and have left I have a few.

I normally make them with milk too if I'm adding other things, if not I just throw it in a shaker and have it with water but my 2 favs are:

1 1/2 Scoop Dymatize ISO 100 Gourmet Chocolate (Probably as pure as you can get for whey protein g for g!)
    Milk
    Big hand full of ice
    Quaker Oats (1 Sachet)
Half a banana OR some Peanut Butter

1 1/2 Scoop Dymatize ISO 100 Gourmet Chocolate
    Milk
    Big hand full of ice
    half a banana
1/2 to 1 tablespoon of peanut butter

Blend it all up and it taste pretty damn good!!!

I switch them up sometimes, using blueberries or strawberries too.

    Ben.

    Myofusion, or ON.

PB+Banana to chocolate, PB, or blueberries and yogurt to cake batter.
Flax oil, extracts, like coconut, banana, rum, marshmallow fluff, chocolate syrup, caramel syrup, cool whip, and so on.

I usually just have my protein with water immediately after my workout. We use Ultimate Nutrition chocolate creme flavour. If ı made it into a shake, I'd add a handful of oats, couple of walnuts, and half a banana, blended with skim milk.

I use Reclaim Smart Smoothie - the chocolate kind. I won it at a zumba benefit so this is the first and only one i've tried. It has 20 g protein and 120 cals. I have a couple of variations.

    Protein mix
    milk
    frozen berries/fruit

    Protien mix
    Ice
    Milk
1 tbl peanut butter (this one is by far my favorite! So yummy)

I dirnk one for breakfast in the morning for the past week since I won it.

I totally use my local grocery store brand, it's actually pretty tasty...that said, I use the vanilla and mix it with 1 cup of 1% milk, about a half a cup of frozen cherries and a cup of cubes of fresh canteloupe...AMAZING!

I like the Sci-Mx range - nice taste to them. I have been eating low fat/ highish carb so I used to add a scoop of the Vanilla flavour to my morning Porridge along with some cinnamon - very tasty.

As far as shakes, I WAS making them with skimmed milk and half a frozen banana, then blended.

I've just switched to Atkins, however, so now I mix it with water and add a dessert spoon of coconut oil and a dessert spoon of flax oil. I don't really add much in the way of fruit or anything like that - the frozen banana was about as adventurous as I ever got!

ok well it sounds like peanut butter is in fact a popular one! My boyfriend told me a few weeks ago chocolate milk is good too for recovery so maybe instead of regular milk maybe ill substitute with chocolate milk and see how that works out with a little p.b.Thanks pals!
