ok so i put 2 tbsp of popcorn kernels the tablespoon is this size incase you're wondering whether i meant imprerial tbsp or wtvr:

http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=tablespoon&um=1&hl=en&sa=N&biw=1280&bih=672&tbm=isch&tbnid=OXj2H77jItlSXM:&imgrefurl=http://www.leopardantiques.com/object/stock/detail/93&docid=xQEcaUojnrIM-M&w=1024&h=686&ei=igN1Ts3OCsiW0QWGquGXCA&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=808&vpy=201&dur=139&hovh=184&hovw=274&tx=194&ty=116&page=3&tbnh=139&tbnw=185&start=32&ndsp=18&ved=1t:429,r:10,s:32

and a tbsp of corn oil also using this same tablespoon. Why did i just have 230 cals if it was so little? they made 2 handfuls that 230 calories?? i'm confused

Well, a tablespoon of corn oil is 120 calories alone. That's more than half the total. Two tablespoons of popping corn is about 50, so your total should be about 170.

Is the 230 from MFP? I do find the database totally jammed with wrong information, unfortunately. You really have to know your calories to use it properly.

I would assume that when you put the actual ingredients into a calorie calculator, you get every calorie measured. But when you actually eat it, much of the oil is staying in the pan and you're not really eating those calories. Try instead of counting the ingredients, measure the already popped corn and put that into a calorie calculator.

    good luck!

ps: popcorn has good fiber and makes you feel full
  • Yes on MFP it says 2 tbsp of unpopped kernels =110 cals
+120 cals of corn oil = 230 that's too much because the two tbsp made 2 handfuls of popped corn.
also each popped corn is small they're not the fluffy type so 230 is too muuuch

thank you for your answers and yes i agree with you ^ i couldn't have had 1 whole tbsp of oil !!
