OK SO I HAVE A BODYBUGG. AND I AM BURNING MORE CALORIES THAN I ORIGANLLY THOUGHT. I AM THINKING OF MANUALLY CHANGING MY CALORIES HERE ON MFP. MY QUESTION IS MY BODYBUGG RECORDS MY SLEEP TIME IN MY CALORIES BURNED FOR THE DAY. DO I STILL COUNT THOSE AS CALORIES BURNED? EX. I BURNED 2740 CALORIES YESTERDAY BUT 400 OF THEM WERE FROM 12AM-7AM WHILE I WAS ASLEEP. SO DID I BURN 2740 FOR THE DAY OR DO I ONLY SAY I BURNT 2340 AND EAT THAT FOR MY CALORIES MINUS MY DEFICIT? ALSO WHEN CALCULATED YOUR BMR DOES THAT NUMBER INCLUDE SLEEP TIME OR IS ONLY WHILE YOU ARE ACTIVE?

I go by my Bodybugg numbers (including sleeping, watching a movie, driving, etc.), although I question the accuracy and try to leave 200 or so calories leeway for error. The number that MFP gives you is an estimate for your BMR based on an average for your age, gender, and weight.

I've been averaging about 2 lbs per week, exactly like my BB predicted.

so is your bmr include ur sleeping time? do you track cals. burned for a 24hr period or just why you are up?

i would do it for the whole 24 hr period. that's what it is aiming to do. that is what our bodies do anyway. i agree with an earlier poster as well in that there is about a +/- % of error with bodybugg and bodymedia armbands.... so leave a little leeway.

    have a great day!

Your BMR is the average amount of calories your body needs for basic metabolic processes in a 24-hour period (so it includes your sleep time).

Good luck! I love my Bodybugg!
