stuck in a dinner rut...need suggestions

So I'm going to the grocery store later to get food for the week. I'm getting snacks and ingredients for dinners.
The problem is that I have no idea what we're going to do for dinner. I like to be the one to plan the dinners because then I can plan meals around my liefstyle, but still make them appealing to my husband & 2 kids.
The other problem is that I won't be home for dinner on Monday & Wednesdays due to class, so I have to plan something that will be easy for my husband to make.
I'm tired of doing the same ole things, so I'm looking for new suggestions. Any help would be great!

There used to be an iphone ap (I had it on my ipod touch) where you choose a meal time (or side dish) and a main ingredient, and then it provides you with various recipes (I think pictures for each - or most). Try that? Or try searching the internet for food inspiration. I've been using skinnytaste.com a lot recently, but I'm sure there are others.0

I have a four year old and a two year old, and a husband who lives on cheeseburgers and fries, I understand it's hard to make food that accommodates everyone. So I don't. They will eat healthy with me, or they don't have to eat.
I make pasta with huge salads often, as long as I focus on the salad for my plate and only have a small portion of pasta, things don't go out of control.
Thin cut pork chops, cooked with either soy sauce or a bit of light margarine with salt and pepper. Very tasty, but a light hit on the calories, especially when paired with whole grain pasta and steamed peas.
Good old tacos, except use lean ground turkey, and you can adjust your own tacos to be a healthier version (light sour cream, no cheese, ect)
We recently made our own pizzas, using a sort of pizza flat bread from the bakery of our Sprouts. I made one little personal pizza for each of us, letting everyone pick their own toppings but making sure they put at least one veggie one, and used reduced fat mozz cheese. I put tomatoes, onions, and cooked spinach on mine, and the entire pizza was only 400 calories or so.
Grilled veggies are yummy, and stir fry is easy. BBQ chicken is a crowd pleaser around here too.
I'm sorry I don't have more suggestions, I'm still trying to get used to cooking healthy for the entire family, and some nights just give up and make myself a separate meal.0 -
Buy a package of thin sliced chicken breasts and bread them to make chicken cutlets. Then just place in a casserole dish, add tomato sauce and lo fat mozz cheese and bake for chicken parm.
Make a big batch of chili and the kids can put it in taco shells or wraps.
I buy sausage (pork or turkey) and in one large pan cook the sausage links till brown. Remove and slice. Add variety of fresh veggies to same pan and saute (I use zucchini slices, broccoli, carrots and frozen peas). Saute till tender then add 1 box of cooked pasta and add back the sliced sausage. Mix together and season with salt, pepper and garlic powder. (Family favorite)
Quessadillas - chicken and cheese, broccoli and cheese, (be sure to use lo fat cheese).0 -
