currently i am set to "lightly active" as i sit most of the day at a desk but do have the chance to get up and walk around often (and i do). however, i generally work out 4-5 days a week at a pretty intense level (as in i'm drenched in sweat when i leave). should i continue to be lightly active or do i up it? i have my weight loss set at 2 lbs per week but i am open to adjusting that as well.

thanks for the advice!

  • I recently changed mine from lightly active to sedatary (spelling?) and it does not make the BIGGEST difference. I would say keep it as lightly active, that way the calories/ exercises act like a cushion.

That is just how I am doing it, my own opinion. I do not have a job but I spend at least an hour at the gym sweating my butt off...but i felt like 'lightly active' was a lie.
Hope this kind of helps, but I am questioning it myself.

In this site you input your exercise separately from your general activity level so I'd probably leave it the way it is.

this. your calories burned during the work day (not exercise) are part of you daily lifestyle. even if you are a postman and just walk around the neighborhood all day, you just put down active or whatever, and count any extra exercise as extra.

btw, i think that most ppl (myself included) tend to over-estimate how active they are and underestimate how much food we eat. best to leave it at the lower setting.
