I agree that Paleo/Primal living is good for you. But let's be real here...I want to know the truth about weight loss with living paleo/primal.

How much did you lose?

How soon did you see results?

If you lost weight fast at first when did it slow down? And how much did it slow down?

Any other information related to paleo/primal would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

  • In my opinion, when it comes to losing weight, it really comes down to calorie intake / how many calories you burn off. That and you want to stay away from all the junk that is in foods. Things that you can't understand or read on the label. If you eat lean, cook a lot of your food, and burn calories you should be fine. That is just my opinion.

The caveman diet is good though :) We as people eat WAY too much grain. I try not to eat much, but I do eat it in moderation.

You can still get fat whether it's paleo, vegan or mcdonalds. In the end it comes out to whether you're using or storing all the calories you eat.

You should really read the book. It's kind of like a text book but has so much useful info. I started mid June but didn't really go Primal until about 3 weeks after that. I've lost 28lbs in just 3 months. I was diagnosed with diabetes in June and my blood sugars have returned to normal range. Rarely will I spike a high and if I do it's either because I've tried to eat a piece of bread or had too much to drink. It makes me miserable now. I don't even crave the things that I used to love adn live on everyday. Pizza, breads, pastas, chips, crackers....etc. None of it seems appealing.
Better yet, that feeling that you must eat every 4 hours or you will famish never happens anymore. many times I'm not even hungry for dinner. My hair is growing like crazy and my nails are too!
You should really look into. The changes are amazing.

A mcdonalds hamburger is a gut bomb, there is no disputing that, but as far as storing fat goes, the only requirement is a calorie surplus. I've actually considered the paleo diet myself, but I just can't do without certain foods. Hats off to those who can though.

I don't think I could go completely Paleo. That's why I went primal. I can have my eggs in the morning. Eggs and cheese are the only dairy I have. I use almond milk now if I need it. Because I became diabetic, I kind of have to stay away from the foods I used to love because they went send my sugars soaring into the 300's. Very dangerous. So it was kind of like having to choose my life or possibly risking death for myself if I continued down the path I was going.
