What kind of exercise are you doing?
  • You are going to plateau every now and then. Changing up your workout will help you, whatever you normally do try something different.

I also tried a detox for 4 days. It wasn't intense at all but it did help me. You just don't eat any processed food, meat, dairy, no alcohol and caffeine. You can drink decaffinated green tea, eat all the fruit and vege's you want, beans and nuts are ok too. You don't feel hungry at all.

    Good luck:)

well, i don't know what you already do, but with this site, i like to put my meals in the night before. it helps me plan out my meals ahead of time, and helps me stay in control, although i allow myself a little wiggle room if i need to grab a granola bar, or a bag of popcorn.

try having more calories in the morning and early part of the day. a good way to jump start your metabolism. and then for dinner you have to restrict yourself a little more to something smaller.

as far as excersiing goes, maybe you need to change your routine and level of intensity?? try cycling, hiking, swimming, hill running.

I have done Zumba, 30 day Shred, treadmill, walking outside, various workout dvds to shake it up....I get bored really easily so I am constantly trying new things!! Started doing Biggest Loser Bootcamp Monday...gonna try to follow their 6 week program!

Seems our goals are about the same. I would like to be at or below 200 by dec 1st also. I started my journey at the end of march and have lost aprox 29lbs. Which I am averaging 5lbs per month.

Try zig zagging your calories. Eat below goal one day, at goal two days, and above goal one day. Try going back and forth like that for a little bit and see if it helps.

Also try zig zagging calorie burn. Burn a minimum each time you work out, but every third day try doubling or tripiling that burn. It is hard I know but it is the only thing that I find keeps my scale moving in downward direction.
  • It sounds like your mostly doing the right thing. I would really suggest sticking with it, because theres no need to rush it. Once you do lose the weight you have to keep the lifestyle so don't worry about the weight so much.

On another note tho, I would suggest longer, more vigorous workouts. Especially if you haven't increased the intensity of your workout since you started. Your fitter now, so you need to work harder. Also make sure you are eating enough calories and never eat less than 1200 calories.

If you are always under your calorie goal, that could be part of why it's going slow. I have days when I'm under but not consistently. My daily goal is 1200 (before exercise). I always eat at least 1200 even if I exercise because I've noticed when I eat less than 1200 for a few days in a row, then I stop losing or even gain a little. Eating back the exercise doesn't seem to affect me too much but less than 1200 definitely does so I'd at least try and get your goal calories

Looking back at your diary looks like your sodium intake is very high, try eating non processed foods. This alone will help tremendously. Good luck!

I do this alot to avoid slipups......seems to help and I can alter it too...

Thanks for this! I have wanted to try the zigzagging thing but not sure where to start!

I know a lot of people who do not lose on the 30DS, because you are building muscle and something about water rentention because of that. I didn't lose weight when I did it. But if that wasn't a problem than ignore this. Lol

I have been at a stand still for some reason as well and I am only in my 2nd month of getting fit. It's discouraging for sure.

I only lost 5lbs doing this but 24 inches overall.....quite impressive...went down a whole size too but I was very bored after 30 days!!

So question for zigzagging....how much more calories should you consume on your high days? Right now I am at 1800 calories per day....to lose 1 pound/ wk which is recommended. I cannot eat just 1200 calories/ day...this is NOT enough for me!
