Going out of town for the weekend. Help =/

I'm going to ATL for the weekend to a football game along with visiting family. So you know what that mean Tailgating and after-parties etc. this is much different than last time since I was at a convention in Bmore so I was walking everywhere, plus using the hotel gym so I was always under my net calories.. This time it's different. I'm staying with Family and I don't know of that much walking except when we're at the Stadium and the Aquarium. Anybody got any tips or advice I could possibly do cause I want to enjoy myself but I don't want to completely ignore my intake. Help =/.

um maybe jog in place after you wake, and just remember smaller portions, but have fun too!0

I feel you...went home this weekend and did so bad. I say keep logging, and treat yourself to small samples, don't deprive yourself but don't go completely off track. Good luck and HAVE FUN!0

where in ATL? There are a lot of places to walk.0

When you don't have a lot of options for what to eat, just try to pick and choose the healthiest options (I'd go with protein over carb sources, for instance) and exercise portion control. If you're able to go out for a walk/jog, even better!0

My advice may not be the most helpful but...it's one weekend out of town for a special event. Make the best choices you can and enjoy yourself. You'll probably go over on your calories but so what? Get back on track when you get back home and don't worry about it. Trying to lose weight and be healthy is one thing but you've still got to live. Oh, and don't weigh yourself for a few days after you get back if you think it'll depress you. I usually don't after I've had a "dirty" weekend out of town:)0

I hear you....I usually have some kind of a workout plan that I take on the road and do in my hotel room or most of the time they have a small gym at the hotel. If you are cool with plyo's/agility, I would do this routine and it only took me 15-17 minutes and it was kick butt:
1 set of push ups on my knees or wall push ups - 15 to 20 reps
1 set of squat jumps (legs shoulder width a part, hands on hips, squat and jump getting a little air and coming down gently) 15-20 reps (make sure your buttocks is sitting back and you knees are not coming over your toes)
1 set of over head press using (don't laugh) my shampoo bottle - like 40 reps cause it's light (I usually use a band that I take with me to do the overheads, then I only do 15-20 reps)
1 set of seated rows (you need a band for this) seated on the floor with the band around your feet pulling the band and arms into a row pulling in towards your torso.
Then about 30 jumping jacks and 30 seated scissor abs, then stretch
With the food, what I do is eat higher protein and stay close to the veggies and away from the high glycemic fat loaded carbs but mostly what has helped is to try and have a meal before I hit the tailgate, that way I am not starving smelling all the food. I dont' know if that is an option for you but it has helped in the past.
Have a great time, sounds fun!!! You'll do fine....come back and tell us how the game was.
