shocking weekend...yikes!

So, have not tracked since Thursday...nor have I exercised. I did not go completely off the wagon, but I ate lots of stuff I wouldn't normally; it was my daughter's birthday Friday, so I spent two days baking cakes and cooking up some pretty kick *kitten* Italian grub. Everything I ate was home cooked, I don't eat dairy, and I think I managed NOT to eat until I was full to bursting, so I'm hoping that I haven't chucked my progress away totally. I feel okay about it, but definitely don't want to get on the scale, and definitely wanted to own up to falling off the wagon...I know it happens, now I just have to dust myself off and get back on track.
Thanks...just wanted to vent a bit! Hope you all had successful weekends!

Lol - we all do it, it's human! Forget all about it, back on track and weigh in next week - and well done for coming back, that's the important bit!0

Don't beat yourself up for having a good time. This site is a guide, not how you have to live your life 24/7. It is good that you have a break, it means that you can relax sometimes. Just get back on it and you will probably find you have barely put on any weight if any. x0

Sounds like a lovely weekend. A weekend off every now and then is like a little holiday - refreshes you for the next round. You're right though, just shake off the dust, and keep moving forward.0

Lol, I had a pretty awful weekend too, 2 Buffet parties, full of things I had no idea how to track, so I didn't bother. Went to a 30th Birthday party yesterday, for which I baked brownies (so I HAD to have one :-/ ). I don't think I did too badly, but will definitely be much better this weekend.
Oh well, I wasn't going to ruin my weekend by worrying about it unduly, and today is new day. At least we had fun0 -
In years to come, hopefully you and your daughter will have happy memories of this birthday - that's whats important.0

Thank you all...we really did have a lovely time, and my daughter loved it (she turned 4). What someone else said about coming back was right; in previous years, I wouldn't have admitted all this...would have just quit and never tracked again. I don't want to do that this time, so I really appreciate the support!0

I've done it several times, all at family events. So long as the trend is downward long term, I wouldn't beat yourself up about it.0

:drinker: So glad you had a fab weekend and celebrated your daughter's birthday in style!!
It was my sister's birthday over the weekend and the dirty-eating (as I've termed it) started Friday when i went out drinking with the girlies from Tae Kwon Do - we were celebrating one them getting a place @ university. Saturday was my sister's actual birthday so dinner was @ her choice of Chinese restaurant, which I had to admit was very yummy!! While I didn't stuff myself silly, as I would've done in previous years, I had no idea what I was eating other than the Hot & Sour soup that I actually logged. Sunday was the 'family' party, with Mum having baked a cake plus a whole load of Indian munchies.
Sunday was also my Tae Kwon Do grading and so i did treat myself to a pub lunch afterwards.
Overall, I had a fab weekend, and while I was massively over my limt Fri - Sun and not so hot with the food logging, I can't regret it because it was such a good weekend
As I see it, today is Monday, the start of a brand new week and a chance to get back on track!! Game on and good for you for admitting you weren't so careful and that you're willing to get back on track!!
:drinker: here's to you continued progress!! x0 -
I would stay off he scales this week and just compensate this week by being v good and getting some extra exercise. Fingers crossed it will all equalize! You deserve a break for special occasions0

Awww...I'm glad so many others had a great weekend, too!! I think I come from a Weight watchers background, and so always felt like a weekend of a little more food was a 'bad' thing, and so would skip the meeting, not ask for support, etc. I find this so much less restrictive in that way, and because of that, I didn't stuff myself senseless because I'd decided to take a weekend 'off'...I didn't feel like it was a weekend off, I just relaxed and enjoyed the food, if that makes sense. I ate everything I liked in small bits rather than trying to 'get it all in', like I was never going to eat it ever again!
Anyway...I'm having a lazy Monday start, but at least my breakfast was good, and I'm going to take a nice long walk outside this afternoon, so I'm easing my way back in!0
