I guess I never called it a diet…, to me it’s a lifestyle choice. Diets have a beginning & an end. Maybe stop buying unhealthy food? Idk..0

what helps me is ill go in front of my mirror and stand there naked and look at myself...doesnt take me long to realize i dont want to be that fat unhealthy looking tub of lard in the mirror...
but thats just what does it for me. good luck hope you find your motivation!0 -
I read motivational quotes and take naked pics. Sounds silly but it works OH! And I watch stuff on Netflix about weight loss, food, etc0

"Happiness is a direction, not a place"
Start putting one foot in front of the other and move in the right direction. Log your food, stay within your calories, and get a good workout in. Commit to yourself to doing this consistently and honestly for 30 days and you'll come out the other side with great new habits.
Good luck!0 -
Agreeing with the above poster--it's not a "diet", it's a "lifestyle change". The fact that you've fallen off your diet and feel unmotivated proves that you were looking about your weightloss the wrong way to begin with--if you view it as a diet, it becomes a wagon to fall off, to "cheat" on, to make yourself miserable on through deprivation ... and of course, diets end when you reach your weight goal, which allows you to slack off and thus put weight back on. They're right when they say that "diets never work" for this psychological reason.
If I were you, I would look in the mirror and be honest with yourself: tell yourself yes, you've slipped up recently, but remember that you're changing your lifestyle to be healthy for yourself. Remember why you started losing weight in the first place, and take this opportunity to change your life for the better! It will get easier, I promise0 -
Same here I watch all of the Heavy documentary on nexflix and that keeps and get me back on track0

watch an episode of biggest loser, works for me!
Do you have no motivation to start your diet because you think its too hard? If so start out easier - set your goals to 1lb a week and let MFP do the math. Then log as much exercise as you are willing to do right now, work your favourite foods around your calorie goal and just promise yourself you'll do it for one day and see how it feels. One day can't hurt right?0 -
lots of good advice here. i look in the mirror some mornings and just go "you can do better." the motivation we can all surrond you with is nothing without the dedication within you. it is inside of you! you can do it!0

Agree with the above comment , its about life style change not a diet! 3 steps forward and one step back is still moving forward.
good luck on you journey!0 -
I motivate myself by setting goals with friends who are also changing their lifestyles. We challenge each other to a 2 or 3 pound weight loss between our dog sports events that we attend once a month. Non of us have missed our goals so far and some have maintained, we celebrate with something special....a treat, a drink or just good old hugs and congrats. My next goal for October 21st weekend is 3 pounds. This will be my third goal level that I am going for and I am not sure I want to go any lower but the challenges are a lot of motivation so it is hard not to do it.
Also find an upcoming event that you are passionate about looking better for....a wedding of friend, a special outing or perhaps just wanting to be able to keep up with a grandchild or child in your life. I want to live to see my grandaughter get married and have kids of her own if that is her dream. so 20 more years at least for that goal Believe in your self and love what you see....because you were created unique and wonderful.0
