anyone else been banded????

Was wondering if there were other members that have been banded. I have fallen in love with this program, but would like some friends that understand being banded too. Anyone???

I have not but I think about it a lot. I have mixed emotions about it. I read where some folks have had fabulous results and then I read where others have had horrible results. The one thing I do like about it is if you have problems, it can be reversed unlike the more radical by pass surgery. I am going to stick with MFP a while longer and then decide. I am losing my 1 pound a week goal so far so maybe I can continue.

Sounds like you are doing great usingi MFP! If you are able to lose the weight without the surgery and keep it off, then you don't really need the surgery. The lapband goal is 1-2 pounds per week, so you won't lose any faster with it and you'll have a lot of things to do pre and post surgery that might not be necessary for you if you're doing a great job now! Don't get me wrong, I'm easily the most vocal proponent of lapband surgery here on MFP, but I also know that the surgery is NOT for everyone. I didn't look to see how much weight you have to lose, nor do I know if you are a yo yo dieter and you lose weight easily but put it back on just as easily. But, if you stick with MFP and get into good habits, I think you're going to do a fabulous job on your own.

If you have any band questions, feel free to ask me. BEST of luck for your continued success!
